With the recent development of the African electronic music scene, there’s a noticeable rise of popular South-African genres like Amapiano, Gqom and Afrotech growing exponentially in a short period of time. Lesego Mohapi p.k.a. Mateki ‘2Shoes’ is one of the flag bearers of the soundscape of his native country.

2Shoes is a multi-disciplinary creative, who as a well-rounded Renaissance man is involved with art, fashion, music, and youth culture. With his keen eye for the right collaborations and thanks to his large network, he has been working with artists such as Tshego, Bnnyhunna, Gemini Major, and Major League DJz. He’s also proven to be the gateway for brands and creatives alike looking to establish themselves in SA. Playing essential parts for brands such as Daily Paper, Filling Pieces, Grade Africa as well as Chris Brown and Focalistic.

Now, focusing on his own producer profile and upcoming projects, 2Shoes doesn’t think along geographical lines and blends various genres such as jazz, and alternative r&b with Amapiano, Gqom and Afrotech.
